Liam Monaghan is an American designer whose work moves between the cultural and the technical, seeking to understand how design can amplify connection and collective experience. Trained first as an audio engineer, he spent years working in live events before turning to industrial design—a transition that continues to shape his perspective on the social dimension of objects, constantly considering design as both artifact and encounter.
He studied at the School of Visual Arts’ Products of Design program before completing a Master’s in Industrial Design at Pratt Institute, where he received IDSA’s 2025 Graduate Student Merit Award and was nominated for the AICAD Teaching Fellowship.
Liam has work experience with Leon Ransmeier in New York and with Shane Schneck’s Office for Design in Stockholm. He is currently a Design Assistant for Jason Miller.
